A while back I wrote about scale.
It just got worse.
So back then, in those long ago times, April 21th, 2026, when the earth only had billionaires, I wrote a piece about the problem the average American has with the concept of scale.
TODAY, we shall talk about Size and Scale.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. Fingers. Toes. Simple. 10. Got it. Easy. Left or right is still hard but one through ten. We can see it. We can count it.
The average American is incapable of rationally dealing with numbers of higher order let alone those that are of orders of magnitude. It’s not just they don’t possess the skills, that is not it, it is the ‘scale’ of what we are talking about. This one was a little more than good old napkin maths.
So keeping my $5000.00 dollar a day example from the previous piece, let’s talk TRILLIONAIRE. Credit my partner CoPilot for the insights.
You want to know:
If you receive $5,000 every single day, how far back in time would you need to start to reach $1,000,000,000,000 (one trillion) by June 15, 2026?
Let’s run it tight.
1. Daily accumulation
You receive:
5,000 dollars per day
To reach:
1,000,000,000,000 dollars
So the number of days required is:
1,000,000,000,0005,000=200,000,000 days
That’s 200 million days.
2. Convert days into years
Using the same year‑length you used before (365.25 days):
200,000,000365.25≈547,570.157 years
Call it 547,570 years.
3. Count backward from June 15, 2026
Now subtract 547,570 years:
2026−547,570=−545,544
That means:
You would need to start receiving $5,000/day around the year 545,544 BCE.
That is half a million years before the present, deep into the Lower Paleolithic, long before Homo sapiens existed.
This is the literal, mathematical answer.
4. Calendar note
You asked:
“What date on what calendar?”
Before 45 BCE, there is no Gregorian or Julian calendar.
So the date is expressed in astronomical year numbering, which allows negative years.
Thus the literal answer is:
Start date: ~545,544 BCE (astronomical year –545,543)
End date: June 15, 2026 CE
Imagine the 401k at 100.00 matching. Bet you can’t. LoL. That’s Scale.
For those who didn’t read the first piece I did a mosquito comparison that just went from Over the top to Biblical in scale. One Trillion Mosquitoes. Again I assigned it to the mathematical abilities of AI.
A trillion mosquitoes, packed wing‑to‑wing and nose‑to‑butt, would cover about 10,000 acres. Call it 16 square miles if you want a round number.
Now, let’s say the little buggers are three dimensional and are cargo, How big a container will we need?
Direct answer: As 3D cargo, a trillion mosquitoes would fill about 160,000 m³, i.e. a cube ~54 m (177 ft) on a side, or roughly 2,400 standard 40‑ft containers.
What does that look like on a container ship?
A trillion mosquitoes, as cargo, is roughly One fully loaded classic Panamax container ship worth of 40 foot containers.
Ridiculous doesn’t approach it. Absurd barely talks about it, Only Insane would allow it. This has no other word in our language but wrong.
